Need help with 243 ackley loads

I have a 243 ai built on a winchester model 70 action(Mauser type action) with a SS 24 inch hart barrel. Hart trued the action and lapped lugs etc before installing barrel. I had brown precision build me a stock and completely bed the rifle. On top is a sworovski 4-12-50 ph scope. I am having a hard time getting groups under an inch with 95 gr SST's using lapua fire formed brass, fed 210 match primers and imr 4350.

Is there a better powder out there? I feel like the rig I have is good I am just having a hard time getting a load to shoot like my other guns shoot.

I'd go touch quicker in burn rate.

Varget or IMR4007ssc and see that helps tighten up group.

I for one would go to a slower powder, like RL-22, and H4831. Lot's of load data in the below link.

If you would like to change bullet weight, try sierra 85gr hpbt with 47 gr IMR 4350. I has provided me with 5 shot groups in the mid 3's with my last 2 40x's.

I have a .243 AI and while there may be additional case capacity there is a wealth of .243 Win data available. It is important to note that P. O. Ackley never really felt that the .243 Win would benefit much from the Ackley chambering but did so at the urging of some folks he knew who didn't want to trim cases. former naval person is right on with Varmint Al's page but don't overlook the .243 Win data either. Other suggestions are good too, don't get locked in on a particular bullet or powder. Good luck.

Try a different scope. All of the guns that I have loaded for that have Swarovski scope would not hold a good zero. As soon as I put a different brand scope on groups tightened right up. They are great glass just crapy internals.

105 A-max 4831 cci-br2 primers worked great for my gun.
