I know the the 762sd is no longer in production, however I have the chance to get a brand new one for $550+tax stamp. Is this still a great deal on this can? I know there will probably be a ton of new stuff released after SHOT but this seems to be a pretty good deal considering this can retailed around $1000 at its prime. any advice? snatch it up or hold out?

**this can would just be for a large frame AR. I have a the cyclone for my bolt gun and I very happy with it.

thanks for any advice

maybe i shouldn't have used the word "deal"

how about value..is the 762sd a good value at $550?

Is it likely that the 762sd-n6 will be replaced by something at SHOT?

Re: need help with AAC can

Well eventually the SDN6 will be replaced by the SR7. This can was released last year at Shot along with the SR5 which is take the place of the M4-2000. Not sure on how long it will be before we see them available to ship but one of the major differences is the 90T mount vs 51T.

is the 91 tooth that much more superior compared to the 51? I know the 51 was leaps and bounds better than the 18, but is the same true for the 91?

Re: need help with AAC can

From what I heard on another board that deals with cans, the 90T mount will have a tapered mount. So when you try to remove the can it will require more torque to release the can. The main advantage is the lesser chance of the can unscrewing off the mount while firing like the 51T setup.

Re: need help with AAC can

The 90t mount is leaps and bounds better then the 51t. It locks up much tighter, no more tuning your mounts. I have the MK13 can and the new mounts are very nicely done.

I think you can talk them down on the price. Our local guy had the discontinued SPR 223 can in stock and I talked him down considerably on the price. Think I paid like $10.00 over what he did for it. Just tell them its discontinued and "when his other patrons found out that he sold them a DQed can, they are going to be less then happy. You know what you are getting thus the reason for the discounted pricing on it. You are taking it off his hands and he can break even".
