no name or anyhting on gun custom rifle.had been told its a remington 600. but it has 3 locking lugs and the back of the bolt is in an tri angle with a siding safety switch in it.
What ROYP said,sounds like a rebarreled Remington 788.with no markings,you have an illegal rifle .Its not a 600 for sure,as they use the 2 front lug system with a dog leg bolt shape. I own 2 Remington 600s.
It does have serial number on left side of receiver .and 6 REM mag stamped on barrel.the rear of the bolt is not round.its more triangled.with a slide safety on top rear of bolt.

I have several old rifles and shotguns that don't have serial numbers. That's not uncommon.

If the flat/top portion of your "triangle" is checkered, and the "sliding safety switch" reveals an indent (painted red to indicate the firing position), my guess is an older Sako model 75. Can we see some pictures of the reciever?
