That sounds pretty custom. I think most coopers have 3 lugs, but they tend to have the safety on the side and round bolt shrouds.

There are no identification markings on the receiver?

What ROYP said, sounds like a rebarreled Remington 788.with no markings, you have an illegal rifle .Its not a 600 for sure,as they use the 2 front lug system with a dog leg bolt shape. I own 2 Remington 600s.

It does have serial number on left side of receiver .and 6 REM mag stamped on barrel.the rear of the bolt is not round.its more triangled.with a slide safety on top rear of bolt.

FWIW Serial numbers have only been required in USA since 1968. There were millions of firearms produced before that date.

Mikey recommend you post a picture to see what information develops.

    Good luck

I have several old rifles and shotguns that don't have serial numbers. That's not uncommon.

If the flat/top portion of your "triangle" is checkered, and the "sliding safety switch" reveals an indent (painted red to indicate the firing position), my guess is an older Sako model 75. Can we see some pictures of the reciever?

Well I know what it's not. It's not a Remington 600. That is my favorite gif of all time I'm sorry I had to use it on you.
