Hey guys,
I for whatever reason still can't grasp the concept of the whole mil to moa conversion for my S&B 5x25. First off I have read and read and read just when I think I understand it I somehow confuse myself again. I had my first outing shooting 600 yards today and now want to make sure I am doing this right. The S&B has 1/4moa turrets. I assumed this meant it was mil based reticle with moa turrets. So I have been dialing 1 moa for every .25 mil. So 1 mil I would dial 4moa. Also tried using the 1 mil = 14 clicks. Now what is confusing me is on S&B website it said that elevation and windage increments were 0.1 Mrad per click. So now does this apply to any S&B 5x25 or the version with the cm turrets. If this applies both versions then I shouldn't even worry with moa just dial in the clicks 10 clicks = 1 mil Right? Sorry guys hated to post this as you see I read more than post, but I really need some guidance. Also don't know where to post this but where or what is the best way to get info on windage adjustments for 308. I have shot rifles for several years now mostly under 200 yards and I am trying to get more into the long range shooting. Thanks for any help you may give me.

If your knob says that it's 1/4 MOA, then it's 1/4 MOA not 0.1 mrad, so adjust accordingly. You can also have it sent to Germany for a mrad knob conversion and make life much easier on yourself. In the mean time JBM Ballistics offers a simple trajectory program that is accurate and can spit out the drop data in MOA out to as far as you want to go. All you have to do is select the bullet type, input the velocity, sight height, zero range, max range, increments, and atmospheric data. I've used it on several rifles with a few different loads and it's either dead on or within a click value.

So is the knob conversion a mil knob or the cm knob. Or are they the same thing. Wonder how long that would take to fly to germany & back

For all intents and purposes the mrad and cm knobs have the same click value, that being 10 clicks = 1 mil. As for the time it would take to have it sent to Germany and back to you, that depends, you'd have to call S&B Inc in New Hampshire to get an accurate quote but believe me, it'll be worth it in the end. The scope will hold more value since it now has matching reticle and adjustments and it will be a helluva lot easier to use.

I might look into that. Just hate to be without it for a while as it has become a favorite. Thanks for all the help and very quick help at that.

By the way I believe 1mil=3.5moa, not 4, so that may help you out in the mean time. I use a MK4 with old tech on it Mil reticle/MOA knobs. Well atcually they aren't even MOA they're 1inch at 100yds, but they work form me. I'll eventually upgrade to NF, but till then I'll be fine with these.
