Need info: build Custom 300WM or buy TRG 42

[SOLO LOBO]

Thinking of building a 300WM on Rem. 700 L/A
with Rock Bbl.
Now I have found a good deal on a (black)TRG 42 / 300WM.
I have not shoot many rounds through a TRG. (hit steel @ 1640yrds.
With a 42 / 300WM)
just wondering if the TRG shoot as well as a custom gun.
The $ is about the same, and I like the feel of the TRG.
Just need some insite from some TRG owners please.

If you shot the TRG and like the feel and your comfortable with it, buy it..

Been through this a couple of times. If you want a custom build, then go for it. I done that and still was not happy, and much money spent. As for the TRG, if you like it and you like the feel, then get it. They are great rifles and you will not be dissapointed with them. I sold off all my bolt guns, stuck with TRG myself. I own three of them and wish I had purchased them before I spent so much on custom builds. I chased that dream and all I had to do was buy a TRG and the set up was perfect.

The TRG will outshoot most marksmen. I have a TRG and love it. It is a sub moa rifle for sure and it has the best trigger on the market.

Trg rifles are just accurate,comfortable and fun to shoot.you won't be disappointed with the 300 wm. Triggers are great on them.

I have fired a Trg and it was great but i am in the process of building my 300 win.

I like the fact that the TRG was made from the ground up as a sniper rifle, and isn't a converted sporter platform. That being said, I don't think you can go wrong either way.

I think the TRG started as a "match" CISM rifle and was later adopted by the finnish (among others) as their sniper rifle (TK 2000? MIL designation), I could be wrong.

Nonetheless the TRG is VERY capable.

TRG is a complete system and it will be hard to build one to beat it as a whole. Great barrel, action, stock, trigger...everything...it just works.

Nothing wrong with custom - but the TRGs I have seen have in military service (ie. lots of use) have put rounds in matchboxes from 600yds...they shoot better than most shooters - thats for sure.

No knock on the TRG, but I am building a 300WM. I prefer building though. Have it all the way you want it. But if the TRG already fits you in terms of the way it feels, well . . . .
