Hi, my first post.
Lurking and learning for a few years.
Just started shooting long range with my ruger m77 mark 2 308. VTLE model 26 inch. Was successful to 950 yds.
Thanks to all on this

sight for the knowledge that assisted that effort.

Reason for help is i want to find out about rifle that I recently acquired in swap deal.
Remington 700 lh 308 with a 16 in barrel. Barrel code AH. I think it's a bdl. Bolt face and bore look like it was little used.
I did get it from a former LE. Composite stock in mottled green / rust. Texture is similar to HS precision on one of my guns.

Being relatively new to centerline rifles I contacted Remington and was directed to their firearms company (???). Abrupt and nasty as cat crap customer service.
Any additional info beyond attached pics is appreciated.

Remington had some of the best customer service, right up until the end of the original company. Sad to hear.

Looks like a regular 700 BDL that's been chopped to 16" and had the stock cut too. A can or two of Krylon and, Wham.

That's what I suspected. I tried to find a source for manufacturing info by serial number but didn't know where or how to look it up.
I doubt the gun is worth much but wonder about the lh action. Any ideas

Date code puts it at March 1987 or 2013 . Looks like a chopped (BDL ?) . If that is a original plastic stock it would most likely be 2013 . Maybe you can find a catalog listing to see which lefty models had iron sights .
