Hey all,
I recently purchased a Remington 700 AAC-SD .308. I put a badger 20 MOA base, Vortex Viper PST 6-24 with Vortex precision matched rings size "low". I am interested in replacing the stock.
My requirements/concerns are as follows.
The current stock (Hogue overmolded) does not allow for a proper cheek weld due to the height of the scope with the current mounts. I need the new stock to be tall enough to allow for this.
I am not an overly experienced shooter and I do not compete. I would like a stock that will provide me a great platform but it does not need to be the end all be all. I am looking for function, quality, and affordability.
I will be hunting with this rifle on occasion.
I don't really want to spend more than $500.
Was considering Bell & Carlson T5 Medalist, but think all the adjustability may be overkill for my purposes.
Weight is a consideration. I am a very fit 220 lb guy, but the gun is already a lot heavier than what I'm used to.
Anyway, suggestions are greatly appreciated.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
