Hello,
I am looking for either an open reed or enclosed reed rabbit call for coyote hunting. I have not used very many different brands and was wondering what brand of call is well made and works well. I know foxpro seems to be the way to go but i just don't have that kind of cash right now and would like to get a decent call with y money. Any suggestions is very helpful thanks.

Matt

I'm going to let you in on a little secret i've used fo years to get coyotes to come in.Believe it or not a fawn bleat works great.Use your imagination and make all kinds of noises with. Its hard for a coyote to resist a wounded fawn...I have even used it in the winter when there is no fawns the yotes dont seem to mind at all. They still come running.......

Re: Need some suggestions on coyote calls

I use the open reed Les Johnson RuffiDawg Jr. call. Works really good for me. Takes a little practice.....I practiced while driving to and from work. It is good for distressed rabbit, wounded woodpecker, coyote challenge, and wounded coyote calls.

Here is the link to the call:

And some episodes to check out the call in action:

Here are a few yotes I called in with the RuffiDawg Jr. while in South Dakota on Halloween.

Also it doesnt have to be a rabbit call i am just looking for a great call to bring the yotes in nice and close given i do my part right.

The best thing I have found is start talking to everyone you can in your area who hunt coyotes. Find out what they are using. Find something completely different than what everyone else is using. Coyotes are very smart and seem to remember calls. Different sounds bring even previously called dogs in.
