Re: Can this chip be repaired? UPS SUCKS!

FWIW the 1st thing I do with any McMn stock is grab my little bluepoint ballpeen and whack on the stock at every crisp edge and corner. Experience has taught me the gel coat often leaves a bit to be desired. Its for this reason I paint ALL my builds. Tupperware gel coat is anything but custom IMHO.

While UPS can certainly "stress test" items I suspect it would have probably chipped out on you later down the road. Fill it w/epoxy, sand till blended, and have your stock painted by a professional once its done. You'll be far better off long term. Least that's my experience.

Good luck.

If you need help just call, I'll guide you through it. </div></div>

I am wishing I skipped the claim process..... UPS picked up the stock and packaging today to start the claim and investigate if I packed the stock correctly...here we go!

I guess it is comforting to know it can be easily fixed, I suppose I over reacted.

Any custom painters come to mind? I have not thought about that past cerakoting the metal OD green to match the stock... Any suggestions would be appreciated.

cttbax,

Let me know what UPS does. When you get the stock back, send it to us. We'll fix it for free.

Ryan,

Thank you for the offer. If I don't get a new stock from UPS I will go this route... and will be shipping it via FEDEX! lol

Re: Can this chip be repaired? UPS SUCKS!

Good luck with the UPS Insurance- Hope it is better than USPS.

I had a brand spanking new (unfired) custom built FAL with a trijicon ACOG STOLEN OUT OF THE BOX while in the care us the USPS. They busted the (USPS) guys that did it an an unrelated sting and it still took me 8 months and 6 denied appeals to get a partial reinbursment. At least UPS is investigating your claim-
(sorry to divert the thread- but also important to note that YOU have to make sure your stolen guns are re-entered into NCIC every year or they drop out of the system- hope you guys never have need for that info)

Sorry again for getting off of topic- still sets off my steam valve.
