new build, 700 300WM... any suggestions?

Hello,

So, I'm starting a new build, and this is what I'm looking at for the time being.

700 action (found a used ADL 7mm for 250... bargain and a half.)
Bell and Carlson A5 stock (any suggestions on best source)
timney tactical trigger set @ 4 oz.
haven't decided between a rock barrel, a krieger, or a broughton.
need to find a good 300 WM muzzle break (with ability to add suppressor later)
barrel block bedding.
need a good source for tac bolt knob.
wyatt detachable magazine
Millett lrs-1 with millett rings, dunno who's piccatiny rail to use, but it'll be mounted on the barrel block, not the receiver, and floated over the receiver.
harris bipod.

Thinking of mounting with a barrel bedding block (a la howitzer) and leaving the receiver free floating, like is seen a lot in 1000meter heavy benchrest in the PA area. Theoretically, it makes a butt load more sense than free floating the heavy barrel off of a receiver that tends to flex a couple thousandths during the firing process. I dunno if it's ever been tried on a tactical 1000 yard gun, but hey... it's worth a shot, right?

So, anyone care to fill in the blanks? What am I missing? Please let me know what I should be doing better, and if ya wanna debate anything, please feel free.

Thanks for the input ahead of time.
Ken

Me , I would drop it in a McMillan A2 with adj cheek rest ( loggerhead KMW ) , with a Surgeon bottom metal , and a PTG M24 one piece bolt , a steel pitcanny rail .

And maybe a 3/4 inche recoil lug ( maximsie ) , that is threaded , this will be the 3rd bolt holding the action into the stock , heavy contour cutrifled barrel , eihter bartlien or Kuriger , and a Badger FTE brake or can .

sounds good, although I'm not going to bolt in the receiver, I'm gonna bolt down the chamber end of the barrel and leave the receiver free floating, so there's no point in drilling in the recoil lug. Likewise, as the barrel will be torqued into the barrel blog, there isn't a dire need to get a huge recoil lug, as it'll simply be a place holder, and the barrel block will be milled on the lower half to accept the recoil lug into it.

has anyone seen a setup like this previously. Most sniper rifles are bedded by the receiver, and have free floating barrels, but has anyone even seen this done? It's a terribly interesting concept, and I've seen it performed on benchrest 1000 yard guns to achieve a consistent 2.5 inch grouping (provided the shooter can read the wind), but I believe that, even with the absence of a mechanical rest and all the other BR goodies, it would still be possible to have a rifle capable of second round head shots well beyond 1000 yards.

So, any thoughts? The convention being challenged here is to remove receiver flex entirely from the equation by mounting the rear portion of barrel and optic both in the stock.

Talk amongst yourselves.
