Hope they nail her azz to the floor boards, we shale see

Mayor LaToya Cantrell made history — becoming the first New Orleans mayor to be indicted while in office — after federal prosecutors on Friday charged her with multiple counts of wire fraud, obstruction of justice and lying to a grand jury.

The 11 counts specific to Cantrell stem from an investigation into her alleged affair with former New Orleans Police Department officer Jeffrey Vappie, who worked on Cantrell’s security detail prior to his retirement from the force and has also been federally indicted.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office alleges, in a 48-page indictment, that Cantrell and Vappie illegally used city funds to travel around the country together, falsely claiming that the expenditures were related to city business, then conspiring to cover it up. Federal investigators combed through 15,000 text messages sent between the two — and later deleted by Cantrell, according to the indictment — where they discussed their relationship and plan travel together.

So few of those abusing public trust actually get caught and only a small percentage of them get prosecuted. And despite what the article claims, this is not about politics. There are those before her that have stepped too far. Marion Barry for one example.

LOL. That cidiots can't see through these charlatans is just ridiculous.
"I think our governments will remain virtuous for many centuries; as long as they are chiefly agricultural; and this will be as long as there shall be vacant lands in any part of America. When they get piled upon one another in large cities, as in Europe, they will become corrupt as in Europe." - Thomas Jefferson

No worries, there is another utterly corrupt, morally bankrupt person of color waiting in the wings to get theirs.

NOLA will still be a cesspool of crime, prostitution and corruption just as it has been for the last 200 years. The streets will still be sticky with jizz and sugary drinks, the restrooms will still have puke in the sinks and a 12 hour old pile of rotting turds in every unflushed toilet and your maid will be digging thru your shit in your hotel room as soon as you leave on that stupid graveyard tour.

Marion did time and got re elected.

He was mayor of DC, got popped for doing blow or crack with a hooker in a hotel room, did time, got re elected. And they wonder why DC has turned into a shit hole. I used to live it, good entertainment, good food, great things to see. Now :poop:
lol, whoops. I confused him with Kwame Kilpatrick of Detroit fame. That should teach me to fact check my brain before posting. Probably won’t though. 😁

A true example of never underestimating the power of the FSA (Free Shit Army - not my invented term) when it is time for the polls to open.
