Re: New Remington 5R .300WM Extraction issue.
To update on my issue, I sent the rifle back to Remington as a barreled action with trigger assembly, no stock because I have it in a McRee chassis. Two weeks later I get an update that it's being shipped back, the box arrives damaged by UPS, but not actually open - inside the box is a new action and barrel assembly with no bubble wrap, just dropped in a box designed for a complete rifle, no visible damage to the rifle, but there is no trigger assembly included despite the packing slip saying that a new trigger assembly was shipped.
I immediately call Remington and appraise them of the situation, I'm told by my contact "Lisa," that they'll need to contact the factory for approval to ship a new trigger and small parts. The next day I call in and am told that while they got approval to ship me a new trigger, it will need to be transferred through an FFL and it's up to me to arrange this. Now I comment back that no FFL is going to want to do this without charging me something for the hassle, and of course after calling a couple local to me they say they're not interested in helping. Now since this point I have called and talked to three different people at Remington looking to get a liability release that I can sign so they can ship the trigger assembly, or I'll ship them back the barreled action so they can put the parts back on themselves. They never call me back despite promises that they will do so each time.
I've now ended up buying a trigger from another hide member, and have the pins coming in from Midway, just disgusted by this whole situation where I have spent hours on the phone trying to resolve a situation where they first let a defective $1300 rifle out of their plant, and secondly where their repair department did not return all of my parts. I've pretty much given up at this point and will NEVER buy another Remington product.
