I ;just bought a Savage 110 FP in .223. It is a pre accu-trigger model, and that is problem #1. The trigger is pretty bad, heavy and gritty. 2nd it has an aftermarket B&C stock with an add on cheek rest, OK so far, but the attachment screws heads are starting to round out and there is none for the rear trigger guard screw (the stock hasn't even been drilled for one.
3rd. It just plain doesn't want to feed cartridges out of the magazine. Looking at it I can't see any burrs or other physical obstructions, but the rear of the shells want to drag and the bolt just slides over them most of the time. Any suggestions?
Finally, I need a scope, I just pulled my 3X9 off my deer rifle to test it, but soon I'll want to start stretching beyond that scopes capabilities.
On a positive note the gun has no problem shooting 1/2 MOA groups off a bench with decent ammo, (my hand loads of 68 gr HPBTs over 26.0 Varget), so all the work seems very worthwhile.
