I am thinking about making a purchase on a new savage modle 10fcp-sr 308 brown digi camo accustock, 24" heavy fluted barrel, 10 round mag. Ive looked all over for review or range reports and cant find any. Does anyone here have any experience with one? accuracy? fit and finish etc? thanks!

I was looking at that for a short-action Savage, but didn't want to commit to the camo scheme so I have been looking at the 10FP 5R. If you're not going to put a can on it then maybe look at a 10FCP instead as it already has a decent brake on it. I would like to know how the bottom metal differs from the other Savage DBMs because the photos on their website it almost looks like CDI.

thanks for the reply. Thats just it i wanna put a can on it. I just pulled the trigger on it and it should be at my FFL tomorrow. i was just looking for any write up on it at all and i havent found a single thing.

It's pretty new. I doubt you'll find much on it.
Looks nice but I'd prefer the camo was optional.

The nice thing about the rifle is that it comes with Savage's new DBM which takes AI magazines.
If camo is a problem, you can always spray paint the stock. Not hard to do.

Has that been verified? I heard the same thing about my BA until I bought it and tried to use an AI box and it didn't fit. Ended up buying my spares from Savage for even more than the AI ones.
I was also looking at a Vortex Viper scope for my suppressed, short-action build. The FCP-SR has a canted rail already so that saves you about $100 (I was going to get a Badger base for a 10FCP 5R). I was looking at Badger rings for that build since I was looking at the same brand for the rail. I have a NF unimount for my NXS on my long action Savage which has been fantastic but I figure NF rings are really meant for NF scopes.

Fit and finish is typical Savage, accuracy is typical Savage...
It uses the accu stock, which works well, but feels like shit.
It does use the new DBM, which is made by Accurate Mag, and uses "AICS type" mags.
It's threaded 5/8x24 and comes with a thread protector, that looks a LOT like the YHM thread protectors.
What would you like to know...
