I'm currently in the market for a scope for my P308 20". I'm new to long range shooting but many helpful guides on this forum are greatly assisting me with that. I'm going to be buying a scope and I have around a $2,000 budget add a few hundred or take a few. A few notable ones I'm looking at are the new Vortexs, leupold mk6 3-18 or nightforce. I need it to be capable of 1,000 yard shots but still be effective close range. Reliability is huge with me and I'm sure nightforce is what everyone will say but I've had a few military buddies who swore by leupold scopes and along with them had some harsh abuse happen to them and they still performed. Not sure about vortexs reliability? I'm leaning more towards the leupold mk6 but I'm still open for suggestions. Should i go with one of the three listed or something else? Looking for multi-range (the less minimum magnification is better) amd reliability. Also would like to know a good mount, thx!
