Rifle Scopes New Slug gun...suggestions for scope

My first slug gun, rifled barrel and mainly for those times and areas that are shotgun o ly for deer and pig. Should I treat it like a 50-100 yrd AR in terms of putting the hunting glass on it. Figure it would be a quick shoulder, acquire target and shoot or am I over thinking it and keep to the classic hunting scope like any short range rifle?

A good barrel/slug combo will get you past 100 no problem.

just have a fixed 4x on mine, thinking no need for high or variable magnification <=100yds.

If you aren’t planning on shooting any farther than that, I would think you could get away with a red dot or fixed lower power sight like a Vortex Strikefire or one of the Primary Arms prism sights

Mine had a 2.5 on it and with Lightfield sabots, it would group at 1.25-1.5 at 100 off a rest. A 1-6 or 1-8 should be more than good.

European hunters kill shitloads of boars and deer using red dot sights on rifles (mostly) between 5 and 200 yards every year.

Either a reflex sight (aka red dot), holographic sight, or 1-4x scope with daylight bright reticle illumination will work.
