hello SH ,

This was my first day on the range with my new optics after very very much deliberation I settled with a SWFA 12X and I am very happy with my choice. The scope feels and looks great as do the SWFA TAC 30mm rings and sun shade. For the most part this scope is perfect only problem was after zeroing it the set screw on the elevation turret knob did back out but after a more stern tightening it worked flawlessly. I must say having Mil/Mil on the optics makes for some very fun and exact shooting. As for the glass I am very impressed and definitely don't feel I am missing any amount of clarity and image that I "need" to shoot. Overall was a fun afternoon after getting off work early and love the sport more everyday.Range is only 200 yds. Black target is 12 inch diameter . looks like you had to use all of your rear ward adjustment in your mounting. just curious are you on the shorter side? I seem to always be on the other end of the rails

glad you like your scope, I have a SS 10x on my trainer,

I was actually surprised just how short that main tube really is I have never felt like I was crowded on one before but to answer your question I am in fact short so my height with the short main tube made for a very close call. Luckily where I have it actually is perfect but I will be getting a Bradely adjustable cheek rest so that I can get a more proper cheek weld .
Thanks for the comment I really was anxious to try SWFA so I can feel good about maybe getting their 5x20 HD during the holidays to put on the future rifle... Savage 12 in 6.5 or Model 10/110 in 300 win

Thanks for the review and pictures. I am on the fence about ordering the SWFA 12x as my intro to precision shooting scope on my Remington 700 SPS Varmint. How do you like the SWFA rings and what are you running for a base?
