Furniture is the Tsuba, and all of the parts that make up a Katana and Wakizashi sword, aka the samurai set.

I have real swords but was not pleased with the mounting from the manufacturer - he did pretty good but I want perfection.

So purchased these - if you can imagine gun parts beign expensive - this was $750....kerching - but sweet - and EXACT replica's of museum pieces some 500 years old.
Uh, this is related to shooting as when you run out of bullets this is what you use LOL

Artic; Looks nice...Bat & Moon theme. They will look good mounted up. Are those Fred Lohman's work?

Sword Funrniture or "Koshirae" are collectible, the craftsmanship of Japanese fittings are amazing, how they applied gold, silver, copper to the iron tsuba is crazy. if anyone gets a chance to go to a Sword Show I highly recommend it, its like going to a museum but you get to examine and hold the items instead of being behind a glass case.

Artic, post up the mounted set when you're done.

Yep - the Wak Tsuba "almost" fits, a fine fine file and it'll fit better than the JBWelded one the factory put on (I have heard this is actually common practice vs pounding in brass into the gaps).

I have 4 chunks of Honoki wood, Silk Ito wrapping, a sheet of Ray skin, the furniture and everything I need to completely redo the Tsuka (Handle for those not in the know)...

You won't mess up the ray skin - the bamboo pegs (Mekugi) get tapped out and the ENTIRE handle comes off - then the Tsuba (Hand guard) slides off - it was designed that way so you can oil the blade occasionally - PM me for more info - just don't re-use the Mekugi - order new one's ...bout a buck a pop - safer than slinging your sword into someone...

Yep - that's from Fred - I'm sending my blades for new Habaki - $250 a pop...ker-CHING.

The blades are Thaitsuki - and while they are new on the Katana/Wak scene I have heard they have been making other swords for a LONG time - just the whole mounting thing they screwed up.
