Wait times are quicker now than when I ordered this rifle. Mike R. had some supplier problems. Williams bottom metals were 26 weeks to get and then they would push delivery times out farther. Mike now makes his own bottom metals now, for short actions. Birdsong took a few months to more to get stuff back from and now that time is down to 4 -6 weeks. I believe McMillan stocks are still out 6 months and Krieger bbls are something like 16 weeks right now. Mike custom builds rifles, so he doesn't stock parts. That means when you order a rifle he starts to order the parts. So his wait times depend a lot on his suppliers. I believe wait times now are 9 -12 months depending on what you order. If you order a Tac Ops Tango 51 they are the quickest to roll out.

    Either the economic downturn is not affecting the shooting community much, or people on this site are mostly financially savvy, independently wealthy, and/or prudent individuals... I see at least one or two new rifle deliveries on here every couple of days!

    Beautiful rifle! I'd bet it shoots better than it looks.

    I had this thing payed off a while ago. I am feeling the economic woes right now. I have to fix up my house so I can move to Texas ( Disclaimer: I am not going to bring any CA ideas to TX.). I just paid taxes and unfortunately, I had to back out of the S&B GB.

    Hey Jamie,

    Congratulations on TWO Tac Ops! Different models and calibers - you are a lucky guy. I love my X-Ray 51, and one day, after UndergroundSkunkworks launches the Model 605 action I'll have Tac Ops build me an "X-Ray 15".

    Congrats again on two beautiful rifles - I know they'll both shoot like a house afire!

    Very nice rifles. I am going nuts waiting for my rifle to come home with new bottom metal.

    Please let us know how you like the two stocks for ergonomics and non supported positions.

    are you sure thats green T? I talked to the company a few weeks back and they told me they were doing all kinds of colors now not just black and green. And that looks nothing like the green T done on these rifles. Its your rifle so you should know more about it than I do, but they just look totally different?

    @Trey Warren

    Depending on the light the color changes. I don't know why it looks so brown in pictures. Looks closer to OD in color. I have an example of the same 1911A1 that looks green in one pic and brown in the rest.

    Re: New Tactical Operations Rifle

    Birdsong coatings do not photograph well. The explanation that I heard was that they are anti-IR reflective. Theoretically, that would be outside of the visible color spectrum, but I guess that there are elements of the visible color spectrum that don't show up in photographs. It can look mustard, green, OD, brown, whatever, depending on the lighting.

    Re: New Tactical Operations Rifle

    Got a chance to go to the range today. I really need to get there more often. My 5 shot groups would be good until the fifth shot, same with my ten shot groups. It's really disappointing watching great groups go to shit with one hurried shot. Any way had three rounds left, so I did a three round group; I know it doesn't count. Here it is any way.

    and compared to the test target.....

    Some more range time and I should stop having those fliers.

    The Echo 51 is on the left. It has a Williams bottom metal on it. Mike R. is making his own to cover the delays from Williams. So you can get his or Williams bottom metal on your rifle.
