So I asked this on Reddit and the poll came out to 50/50 and when it comes to spending money I suck at deciding things so I figured I'd ask here as well.

I can find a new Tac A1 in 6.5 Creedmoor for ~1550 total.

I can find a used Tikka Tac in 6.5 Creedmoor listed here for $1500 + transfer so the price is not that much different. It has a 26" threaded Krieger barrel. The barrel has around 800 rounds and the action around 2800 total. Says it shoots sub-half MOA with handloads at 500 yards which is the kind of accuracy I am hoping for. I do like the heavier, longer barrel.

Which should I get?

Both barrels should shoot well so I would ask myself "Do I know that factory new tikka is really new?" and then I ask myself "Do I know that used barrel only has 800 rounds on it?"

I go with the one i know. I wouldnt pay a surplus just because someone shot out a barrel already with it.

I would go with the new one. But if I were really in your spot, I would get a new CTR for $850-900 and match it with the chassis of your choice.

Like someone said above, you know the history on the new gun.
Who knows if the 800 round count on the barrel is legit or if it actually shoots exactly how they say. They are selling it, so I wouldn't put it past them to embellish a bit.
