new to .308 reloading - seeking advice

Re: new to .308 reloading - seeking advice

I would read the stickys on here several times. I am in my third year of reloading and have learned more in a month than in those 3 years by reading the info here.

Thoughts on using 155 gr scenars, VV N150, Lapua brass, and CCI BR2 primers?

I'm just starting to reload for .308 and any advice would be appreciated.</div></div>

Forget the 155's. Your rifle is not setup to shoot them effectively. (wrong twist and short barrel). Go with the Sierra 175's. Good to 1000 yards in your rifle.

Use Varget or RL-15 powder. Brass and primers are fine.

I don't have any components yet, just working on a load and will buy in the near future.

I was also looking at the 185 scenars which should work well in a 1:11 24" bbl.

I'm trying to read as much as I can.

Just go with the 175 SMK's. Save yourself the hassle of trying to find a good seating depth with the Scenars to make them shoot accurately.
