New to distance shooting. Opinions needed.

I have a chance to get a "Like new" FN PBR in .308 for $450.

It was one of those deals from CDNN where you could buy the barreled action and just add a tactical stock. The guy that bought it only put a couple hundred rounds through it, and now he needs moola for another project.

I am going to put my SWR Omega 300 on it (it will probably never be removed) and I wanted to scope it with a Trijicon TR23.

How's this setup seem to you guys?

I don't have a bunch of cash, and this is a very do-able setup for me financially. (I am a Trijicon Dealer and an SWR dealer, so I get those items kinda cheap)

It will be used for casual squirrel harvesting. 300-600yds.

Also, The TR23 is a 5-20x50.

Am I going to need higher rings for the bell of the scope and a cheek rest?

Buy it for $450, and never look back. Improve/customize as funds become available.
