Photos new (to me) .308

First 5 shot group at 100yds with a .308 that I bought off of the classifieds here on the hide. Not bad with factory ammo, cant wait to do some load development!

I'd been shooting mostly factory rifles for a long time and then I got a custom rifle off here as well and I was shooting similar groups with factory ammo and I was just blown away. Some of the gunsmiths in this country are true masters of their craft. Wait until you start reloading.

It is a factory 700 SPS varmint (the cheapo) that has been put in a B&C stock, thats it! I guess I got lucky!

Is there more than one way to correctly measure group size? I have been told center to center. I would appreciate some one educating me on this measuring procedures. Bob

I measure the outside of the two farthest holes and subtract the bullet diameter. This group would be .410-.308=.102" center to center. This is the way that I have always been taught to measure groups for center to center extreme spread.

Did you zero the caliper at .3" and then measure? That is what I do with my digital calipers. That would be .39 MOA? Nice.
