Has anyone seen this and do you have any information on this?

I posted the original “leaked” photo... And then got approval to release a little bit of extra info.

This is the closest to official information you’re gonna get until the official launch.

If you want to know more, ask me. I might be able to get approval to leak some more features/info...

A few important questions I'm interested to get answered

1 is the Bluetooth compatible with rangefinders like the 2800.com and other higher end rangefinders.

2 is it rugged like the Garmin 701 AB

3 is it a standalone unit capable

4 is this unit only proprietary to Gunwerks and Revic stuff only? If so tell them no I'm not interested in that deal. If anything the ability to use other brands of rangefinders is important to me.

A yes or no will work for each question since you can talk about it yet.

1. What sort of compatibility are you looking for? If I understand what you want it to do, then I can answer your question better. The device is Bluetooth enabled. What do you need/want it to do?

2. Rugged? Yes. That’s the plan.

3. Do you need anything else to run it? Nope. The Revic ballistic app will give you everything you need. It’ll be feature rich with lots of useful modules. It has tons of internal sensors, GPS capable, etc. Being Android compatible, you can run whatever app you prefer - 4DOF, AB, Geo Ballistics, onX, etc.

4. This question seems a lot like #1. I’m still unsure what you need compatibility-wise with a RF. Do you want the device to push ballistic solutions to a RF display? Do you want the device to display ballistic data for the ranges you shoot in your RF?

I use the Leica 2000, so i'm sure i'm missing it, but why is compatibility with a LRF important? If I range my target at 1083 yards, why do I need my ballistic computer to communicate with my LRF? If all it does is auto-populate the distance, it saves me a whopping 1.13 seconds over inputting the distance by hand. And if I didn't range my target correctly, I still have to reshoot it and verify my range to target.

Number 1 and 4 I'm very excited about that it Bluetooth enabled. An yes I would like to see the RF display the yards and ballistic solution to and on the unit.

Number 2 good to hear

Number 3 Is the one thing that everyone here I believe was wanting to hear.

Last qestion hopefully you can down load and print up a back range card. Everyone knows things break down and need the paper backup.

If this is case I'm a buyer.

So two things I have learned from several releases and teasers. One the super price is never super. Number two if they say mid-summer, you will have it sometime late fall, or early next year. Rember also phones that look like this, that are top of the line, last no more than 4-5 years. Unless this thing takes replaceable batteries, I will stick with my Kestrel. I hope that the battery life is super and price below 600.

My iPhone will complete all functions there are other than reading the wind. It has a barometer, altimeter and much more.
I can get a wind meter for it.
I can download AP Ballistics for $40 dollars

So what are you getting for 600 dollars or more? Nothing my phone cant do for an additional 40 bucks.

I concur. Linking to a LRF is a waste of time and battery. BT likes to eat batteries fast! And this "connect to anything on the planet" is in the end, a bad idea, and far from being needed at all. How many people out there really use any gadget to its fullest? Lots of folks still struggling with most ballistics apps and on top of this we want to add more hardware-related cumbersomeness? To what end? Guys, keep it as simple as possible.

Is that pronounced knob looking thing on the lower left the power button? Because i would break that shit right off within days. Or is it an optical illusion that it looks higher than the other buttons?

Ummm..that's kind of the point of autopopulating a BC from LRF. Less button clicks and fat fingering. Nevermind populating a range card this way...smh. How simple to we want to get, or go back to? Back to "tent poles lashed together for a front rest" simple? Yes, gear can get out of hand, but it's things like this that begin to remove the kinks out of new technology and how it's used by the user.

I'm not quite sure why there's such a negative reaction by some, options are a good thing. Smh...

I like options like anybody else, but LRF is not one of them or it's so low on my list that it's worthless. What I see, is a lot of companies doing the same thing and mostly ALL of them having to cope with the same glitches over and over again. Your GIF is simply fantastic LOL!
