I bought a couple things last weekend, and they came home today.

Lathe is a South Bend 16"

Mill is a Index 745. Don't mind the rust on either. They just need cleaned up. The ways are perfect on both-the mill has chrome ways. Both need cleaned, and a coat of paint wouldn't hurt either. They will be leveled out this week, electrical goes in next weekend, and should be under pwoer by Sunday, assuming the phase converter shows up this week.

Re: New toys

If you look hard, you can find some real deals on older, used equipment.

I kind of lucked out and ran into a older gentleman who has been a machinist for the last 50 years. He is semi-retired, but buys and fixes up older machinery. He had both the mill and the lathe, and we struck a deal. It even included him delivering them and getting them into the garage.
