Newby with ring height and base question

Hello all! I am setting up a sub $1000 ( for time being) snipe/hunt rifle in .308. I ordered the rem 700 aac sd. Will suppress it by the summer. I now need to set it up with a base and rings. I scored a deal on a new Konuspro M30 scope 4.5x-16x40 for $200 from a friend.

I plan to use this base (so far):

And plan to use thse burris rings (so far):

<span style="text-decoration: underline"><span style="font-weight: bold">Wich height rings do I need?</span></span> Im sure I will upgrade any weakness down the road if I find any. Will mainly hunt and target shoot with this setup at 100-300 yds with 500yds being the max.

I would go with the low (1/4).

with a 40mm you are going to want the low rings

i'd go with a 20 MOA base instead, you'll get more uable elevation out of your scope

Go with the 20 MOA EGW and the low XTR's...same set up I run on my stuff.

Thanks for the response's. I orderd both sets and will return the mids (before I saw this). Have any of you ran into any clearance issues when installing and overside bolt handle using the low rings?
