Next rifle long range shooter

Hey new to the board and trying to get an idea of the best way to go on a new long range rifle, for target, varmint and possible hunting. Currently looking at 7mm WSM, 7mm rem mag, or 300 wsm or 300 win mag. Looking at starting with a Lawton 7000 or 7500 action or Shilen custom action and sendero style barrell-26". Not sure if I will use my ginsmith or have lawton machine or Shilen build it. Any input I like the ballistics on the 7mm but not sure how they compare ballistically out past 500 yards. I think I prefer the WSM to the rem mag.

STAY AWAY FROM LAWTON!!!!! you now have been warned if you lose your money it is now your fault.

do you handload? what weight are you looking for? you going to compete with it? what distance you hunting at?

Re: Next rifle long range shooter

About $3000 for the rifle, I have considered the Savage 300wsm VLP-DBM has about everything I need, I just know that a custom built rem action will be better for long term investment and by the time I upgrade the savage laminate stock I will be in that one for at least $1500.

What you need to do is call Jered at APA and talk to him. His shop is over in Jefferson, Ga (a little east of Atlanta) and He'll fix you up with the sweetest shooting 7mm you gan get.
