For our August Match, we will be returning to the Urban Rifle theme.

You will have a lot of fun with this one, either on the precision side, or the carbine side.

Carbine should expect a course of fire with shots no greater than 100 yards. Precision and DMR to 600Y.

Working on the CoF. Still in flux, but it should include stages fired around vehicles, Moving targets, Pop-ups, barricade shots, steel, handling skill tests, and an urban style CQB challenge. There will be some physical activity......

Precision - bring 60 rounds

Carbine - bring 100 rounds rifle (no M855 or AP), and 20 rounds pistol.

Standard match fee, $20 members, $30 guests. 0830 start time.

A pair of gloves is required for this match, and if you have a GMRS radio, please bring that too.

Re: NHRPC CARBINE/PRECISION/DMR MATCH 8/18 GAP PA

Thanks for putting on a fun and challenging match. I know I had a blast.

The level of shooters in the precision class seems to be going up. There seems to be more good scores getting posted up. It adds to the fun to watch guys work stages and make it look easy - like Vic scoring a 99 on the mover stage.

Already looking forward to the next one.

I would say this was a higher difficulty level than usual.

CoF was:

1 - CBS at steel with two B27's right behind it as -25 no-shoots if struck.

2 - Hostage run - :90 to hustle fro 300 to 200Y with all gear and run a 10 dot drill.

3 - Balloon mover - Bust a balloon with 5 rounds at 200Y.

4 - Barricade mover - standing, rested on a wobbly barricade at 100Y.

5 - Vehicle Mover - Off a jeep hood at 100Y.

6 - Post walk - Standing, braced on post. 2 min to hit at 3,4,5,600Y in that order as many times as possible.

7 - Loophole mover - Shoot through a wooden loophole/window at a 600Y mover. I put this in here to force a trap/ambush approach which I usually avoid.

So 5 of the 7 stages were on movers. The other two shots were the CBS and shooting at various distances to 600Y standing off a post.

Seeing a 99/100 shot on a mover off the vehicle hood was really nice. That was VERY good shooting.

The advantage went to the semi's on this one.

Damn Freddy, another nice COF from you. Wish New Holland was closer for me.

I love that Loophole Mover stage. That is how lots of urban sniper ops go down. 10ft back from the hole so the bad guys have to engage you straight on: a M24 or M40 vs. an AK47 - I know what side of the bet I want to be on.

I am gradually moving the nature of the game away from the "let's lay on our belly all day and lock up tight as we want on the gun" to creating stages that more closely mirror the type of shots that are actually encountered.

There will still be a little slow fire and bipod/rear-bag sugar in there from time to time, but we will start pressing the more difficult skill sets more often. ;-)

Despite scoring a big fat zero on it, I really liked the 100 yard dash string.

That will make for more challenging and fun matches. Can't wait to see what you come up with.
