Hi,

Registration is open for the May 22 match.

Mandatory safety briefing starts at 0830.

Info and online registration are available on the NHRPC Practical & Precision Rifle page:

$25.00 guests, $20.00 NHRPC members.

http://nhrpc.org/index.php/groups/42-pra...ion-rifle-match

This match has actually two separate courses of fire available. Shooters may register as either Precision, or Carbine. You shoot one OR the other.

Precision as usual goes out from 300 to 600Y with movers, popups and some reticle hold work.

Carbine shooters will be confronted with longer distance shots than usual, but don't turn chicken and run away just yet.

There are only about 10 rounds fired at 400-500Y. Most are 300 and 200Y. It is do-able with iron sights if you are experienced but an optic is recommended.

Bring 100-120 rounds if you are shooting carbine, or 50-60 if you are shooting Precision. If you have never shot movers or pop-up targets, I promise these two alone will be worth the trip.

CoF is listed here, but is subject to alteration for prevailing range conditions or a safety issue: http://spreadsheets.google.com/pub?key=t...amp;output=html

We have some great shooting stacked up. Come on out and have a safe and fun day of shooting. Email with any questions please.

Would love to make it. Matt & I are @ storm mountain that week for some training. Let me know when the next one is.
Sounds like a great day

No problem. We always post them right here.

The carbine CoF with the real car in the mix looks like so much fun I myself have a hard time choosing which one to shoot!

I believe the next one is in June but not sure what date. I also plan to schedule another suppressor-only lowlight/night shoot sometime in the summer.

Screwing around with the CoF spreadsheet, I also calculated the average shot distances for each class. Carbine's average shot is 273Y, and precision's is 404Y. Doesn't seem so scary when you see numbers like that, but a lot of those shots are on movers, popups, and from assorted field/barricade positions.

I also want to do an all-candy match - movers, popups & steel all day from 200-600Y.

How does it work for spotters/shooters, is this a "spot your own misses" shoot?

If I need a partner hopefully someone will be willing to shoot with a match 1st timer.

I'll be there, my registration check should be in the club's mailbox in the next day or two.

Hi,

You don't need to bring or have a partner/spotter. It's an individual effort competition. When you are shooting at steel, other people on glass will cheerfully call hits and misses. If you are set up on the gun correctly you should be able to spot your own impacts on steel, and depending on conditions see some of your trace too.

It's kind of neat especially at longer ranges when you hear the firing line say "HIT!!!!" and the sound of the 'ding' hasn't gotten back to the firing line yet.

We usually let people call and adjust fire for eachother on movers. Pits report the hits back after the round.

Looking forward to a great shoot.
