So my F1 reticle has always been a little strange. Even though it was leveled definitely with a plumb line, bubble level and tall target tested my dad always swore it was not level. I just thought he was used to holding a rifle canted and dismissed it. Well, yesterday I shot with it and my normal half minute rifle was shooting pretty bad. I also noticed for the first time that the horizontal axis was definitely off. Later at home I set up a target with verified plumb lines. The vertical crosshair is good, but the horizontal axis is most certainly not. I am not sure how the reticles on these scopes are produced but this seems really odd. I bought it from larue so it is not a knock off.

Re: Nightforce F1 super weird problemen,

Ok, so this is a lesson in the obvious. Sometimes the answer is right in front of your face. Quite literally for me. Today happened to be the first day I shot with eyeglasses and not contact lenses. In my case, my eyesight is really bad, so my glasses are thick. So thick it turns out, that it created an optical illusion in the scope due to the curvature of my eyeglass lens!

When the nightforce rep told me that the reticle is laser etched I started thinking about other possibilities, and the only thing I had changed was my wearing eyeglasses. I put in my contact lenses and viola! no more problem.
