I have decided on the NXS 5.5-22x56 scope due to its 100MOA travel and overall fantastic reputation.

I have found a few threads on NPR1 vs NPR2, but not a lot of MOAR vs NPR1.

Have any of you had/used both? Seems to me like MOAR adds 10MOA onto the recticle and overall looks cleaner. Is that about it?

I took my new nf 5.5-22x50 with the moar out yesterday. I have always used moa reticles so that is what I am used too. I have to say that I love it. Love the fact that the reticle matches the turrets.

Re: Nightforce recticles: MOAR vs. NPR1 - on a TRG42

The MOAR was meant to be an improved MOA reticle variant for field/tactical use. The NP-R1 has always been our number one selling reticle but there have been common complaints from guys that use them in the field/tactical role that it was toooo thin.
It is a very fine reticle.

We doubled the line thickness on the MOAR. We took it from .0625 MOA(1/16MOA) to .125(1/8MOA).

We gave it 1MOA graduations on both the vertical and horizontal as well as added numbers for quick reference. We gave it a 2MOA crosshair inside of a 4MOA acquisition box to remove some clutter and aide in rapid target engagement. The hash marks on the horizontal also do not intersect as to provide a clean look.

The NP-R1 was a total floating reticle. The MOAR ties to the edges of the FOV and thick arrow tipped shaded boxes help draw your eye to the center.

The MOAR reticle is much more visible in shadows and low light conditions, as well as against darker colored targets.
The entire smart portion illuminates.

While we say we thickened it up, it is still very thin in comparison to other reticles available on the market, but thick enough to make a distinct difference.

I have used both the npr1 and moar. I just got the moar and love it. It is thicker but not too thick to make precise shots. IMO, the npr1 is good for benchrest/fclass/target type shooting but the moar is better for field use.

NightForce got it right with the new MOAR reticle. This is the Best reticle on the market Period. MOA/MOA is the way to go and with this improved MOAR reticle you have everything needed whether it be in the Field or on the Bench shooting 1000 yards. And I really Love the floating center cross hair.

It doesn't add anything in terms of moa to the reticle. The MOAR has 20MOA in the reticle in a 5.5-22 which is the same with the NPR-1.

3.5-15 has 30MOA in the reticle (NPR-1 and MOAR).

Nightforce MOAR Reticl Review

They appear different, the two 'versions'.
Could you describe the difference. I have a 15x and am familliar with the 30min. hold over in the southern half. Is the 20min. less cluttered / easier

ETA;
I know the increased mag. of the 22x over the 15x will show a larger target in the same reticle in SFP.
My question is with both scopes at a given mag, does the reticle appear to have the same stadia spacing? Photos seem to make the 20moa bottom look coarser.
