I have an itch for a fast 22 caliber that will work in a 308 bolt face. I've seen most calibers out there including 22creed, 22-47 Lapua & 22-250 but rarely hear anything about the 22-6. It's a 6 Remington case necked down to 22. Case capacity is unreal and speeds with 75-80g is close to 3500fps
    Dies are common
    Brass is available
    It's dimensions are 2.870"
Barrel life is similar to the others.

Why don't I hear any mention of it ?

Yea it seems when most people want that ripping effect on a 22 cal they just go with the 22-250 or a 22-243. When in doubt, why not just do a 223 WSSM haha.

I can see the possibility of 22-250, don't know how well the AI calibers feed from mags, but you get even less barrel life with that caliber. The 22-6 seems to have a slight better life cause of the powders used. Haven't tried so all still speculation from what I've read. But the speeds achievable with that larger case are insane.

I think one of the major drawbacks is length, it's borderline being to long for some mags.

I shoot a 22-6 Rem. Load development with Honady 68 gr bthp match and 7828 and 4831SC was easy. Shot every combination very well. 70 gr JLK's were finicky on seating depth but worth the effort. 3600+ fps was easy to attain but I went with a low node at 3467 fps to go easy on the barrel.
