Beautiful to say the least. I may have to cut mine down so it looks something like that......Anyone know what the min barrel length for a 243 is? Keep the pics coming....

Thanks Coldboremiracle

I realize it's an illusion, but to me the non-tapered barrel looks even bigger at the muzzle than it is at the chamber. Crazy!

Coldbore, nice looking rig though, for sure.

longshot38, Any idea what the completed rifle weighed? What the OD of the barrel was? I'm thinking that my barreled action (27" non-tapered) is about 7-8 lbs. alone. Throw a stock, optics, bases, rings and I think I'm going to tip the scales at over 13-14 lbs. I sure as hell wont be complaining about recoil being a 243. I still don't know If I want to look for another barrel with a lighter profile.

Thanks for the pics guys.

My first shot at a custom rifle I went with a straight 1.250" barrel fluted. I think with that barrel and the heavy ass choate stock it weighed in at 19 pounds. Is a 7mm Rem Mag, and has little to no recoil. Will never do another one like it again since they get very heavy.

Yep, made two of them. even with the "cock" cut at 20 inches, they still weigh 16 pounds empty, until I screw on the can and stuff a loaded mag into it, then it weighs more like 19. They aren't packing rifles thats for sure.

Yep the total package was somewhere around 20 lbs. But the stock alone was 6 lbs. So there certainly are ways to lighten the load.

straight taper pac nor .20 Tactical. The only reason I went straight taper was to support the mod. It sounds like a moderated .17HMR if any of you folks have heard one.

Both are 1.25" straight 'taper'. One is a 300 Jarrett, the other a 243AI with the muzzle brake on it because I couldn't find where I packed my suppressor in the truck for the pic.
