I'm heading down to Sig for a course next week. As I understand it, I can only shoot lead free, non toxic, frangible ammo. Has anyone got an suggestions as far as brands or sources? I'll be running an HK USP45.
Thanks an advance,
Ken

Re: Non Toxic Frangible Ammo

We use 55 grain lead free WINCLEAN ammo. Its a soft point type bullet(kinda looks like a 30-30 style bullet) We use them in an indoor range that severely restricts the ammo to NON LEAD projectiles. Recently we shot about 4,000 rounds on steel with our TAC team and the local FBI SWAT Team on steel ranging from 10-60 yards no ricochets or fragments

I don't recommend Federal "Green" ammo that is compressed copper alloy it fouls the barrels VERY BADLY

Re: Non Toxic Frangible Ammo

I run this stuff on steel constantly. Never had an issue with it. Fits your frangible/lead free requirements. As to where to get it... I get it at my (semi)local Cabelas, although they do not have it on their website.
