I thought this was a pretty good group for 300 yards:

Re: Not too shabby for a factory 700

It was about 40 degrees and almost zero wind.
I was shooting a .243 Win. caliber with an 80 grain BT Sierra Blitz and IMR 4064 in a Winchester case.
Thanks for the reply!

I guess groups like this are pretty common around this crowd, but I was kinda proud of it.

Thanks for the compliments!

I think the "police" y'all are referring to make their rounds on every site I've been on.

Police are here: "Where are those other two shots! You take that target right back out to three hundred yards and shoot them plus another 5 for good measure!"

But that is some good shootin

I think anything MOA or better is pretty good.

It's just a plain-Jane SPS 700 Varmint I bought new about a year and a half ago. It's been shooting some decent groups at 100 with the 80's and 4064, but anything at 300 plus is kinda new to me.
I put a NF 3.5-15 in Seekins bases and rings on it a while back and dropped it in a pillared Manners "T" stock. Seems like I've noticed a little improvement since then.

Re: Not too shabby for a factory 700

I found a target from a few weeks ago for the 5-shot groupies.
Sorry, but it's just a little over 100 yards.

Re: Not too shabby for a factory 700

Forget the shot police! Anyone bad mouthing your superb group you posted because it only consists of 3 shots rather than 5 has nothing better to do (like shooting)

As 10Truck stated above this is a 3/4" 300 yard group CTC.

Or 0.25 MOA.... just in case the MOA Police show up.
