I know how to fine my NPA from standing positions but a little confused in finding it from the prone position. any suggestion would be great
Thanks
Butch
The way I get the best NPA from the prone is starting with getting the tightest and most natural position behind the gun. Get a good sight picture and once you think you're good drop your firing hand and (ensuring you have a tight position) drop your none firing hand. Close your eyes for a second take a deep breath and take a look at your sight picture again. If the reticle isn't exactly where you want it shift your whole body a little at a time keeping the rifle in your shoulder (do not move the rifle except by how it moves in your shoulder). Get back on the rifle and repeat everything from above. Go back see where the reticle is and keep making fine adjustments like that until your reticle is right on target and stays there with out you touching the rifle except where its in your shoulder. Biggest thing shift your body not the rifle until its right where you want it. Hope this helps.
I build the position cognisant of the 5 factors of a steady position and without consideration for the target as this assures the rifle will be pointed somewhere near but not on the target. Then, I will move my belt buckle to adjust NPA for the relationship between sight and target which I'm seeking.
