    I'm going to get a new rifle and am considering one of these three. I'll use in F class mid-range and probably back to the 1,000 yard mark. PRS shoots are a remote possibility, but a possibility. Caliber wise, pretty much settled on the 6.5 CM, although 260rem was in the mix, too.

    The three are;
    • Tikka T3X UPR with 24" barrel ( I have Tikka T1X in an Oryx chassis and like it a lot)
    • Bergara HMR PRO (couple of friends have Bergaras' and swear by 'em)
    • Remington 700 PCR ( I have two other 700s' and like the Remington product. This PCR has the 5R Rifling and a decent chassis...so)
    What I would like to hear from you is what your pick would be and why.

    Thanks for your help and input.

    personally i would go Remington, and take the $5-800 you saved and put that towards whatever you were planning for a scope

    you are already familiar with the remington platform....from what ive been hearing the new crop of remingtons are pretty damn good shooters.

    and a chassis system gives you more flexibility than a stock.

    If you already have parts accessories etc for 700's that can change things.

    the 700 is the dog in that bunch unfortunately!
    My Remington 700 5r stainless in 6.5 cm shoots 0.3 moa 5 shot groups all day long with Factory Hornady 143gn eld match ammo. My Defiance tenacity with Krieger barrel in a Bravo chassis doesn’t shoot any better but it did cost me $1500 more money.
    Like the other fella said I’d buy the Remington and put the savings towards a good eyepiece.

    Thanks for all the advice, good points for each.... but not a clear winner. So I'll keep looking - probably can't go too wrong with any of them. I do have Jewell trigger I could use in the 700 and Bergara (since that's a 700 clone).

    Thanks for taking the time to post your thoughts.

    OR build a budget custom ;)
    "budget custom" are two words that usually aren't used together. :ROFLMAO:

    Well, here's what I ended up getting. Bergara B14 BMP Scheels has one at $1499 and I'm going to try to get them to price-match to an on-line ad I found for $1249. I'm pretty excited about this and going to pick it up along with dies, powder, brass, shortly.

    Thanks again for all the input. I'll post a photo when I get it put together.
