Recall notice...

Well my only regret is having waited all those years and not getting the 223 conv kit. It shoots! I hastily loaded a couple of rounds with random 223 brass just for fun as well as getting some factory 73 ELD-M to established a baseline.
77 SMK, 2.410 coal, 23.5gr XBR
75 ELD-M, 2.515 coal, 23.5 XBR
80 ELD-M, 2.515 coal, 23.5 XBR

I need to get a VLD seating stem but I was still able to gently load those without deforming the tip.
I couldn't shoot further than 300 yards yesterday there but the SMK and the 75 ELD-M would constantly shoot 0.5-0.75 with the odd sub 0.5 here and there. The 80 ELD was more picky and more in the .75-1.00 moa range
Wasn't a fan of the factory 73, was hovering in the 1 moa range and the magazine and feeding angles really prefer those long coal. I have an order of SMK 80 on the way as well and between those and the 75 ELD-M I'll be able to stretch it to 1000 yards on a 22" barrel no problems.

Will be a fun summer!

Should get my SAC 223 barrel this week. Ordered in early December but DTA has not sent them a bolt yet so looks like I’ll be living vicariously thru you for now so post up some pics

Going to source my own .308 barrel blank to get a new barrel worked up, is what I'm looking for a 1.25" breech minimum diameter?

So this is my plan to add a full area419 weighted arcalock rail to my old gen 2.
The picatinny handguard has a U channel that measures 10mmx4mm, so I ordered a piece of aluminum to drill and tap (with 10-32 screws) and check the fitting and once I'm satisfied, I'll have my smith drill and tap a stainless 304 bar of the same dimension. I used the holes from the QD handguard and I'll drill one more hole in the middle so the screws are spaced out 2.5" which should give me decent strength and I think 4mm of thread engagement in SS should be sufficient (it's more than the mlok nuts).

I'll need to remove 1-1.5mm from the plastic stock to have the rail perfectly flush from the picatinny to the trigger guard.

Still a work in progress ... suggestions ?

I got the 80 ELD-M to shoot as good as the 75 by loading them to 2.525 and increasing the load to 23.8 and 24.0 of XBR. Seems like those VLDs are quite sensitive to jump.
Was getting 2850 FPS at 24.0 and 2900 with the 75 ELD-M. More than enough to get to 1000 even at sea level.

This is way above max book value and I didn’t see any sign of pressure because it was a cold day (0 deg C) and also XBR apparently doesn’t show pressure sign until it’s too late so assume I’m a retard and work up slowly.
I’ll probably stay with 23.5-23.7 for summer loads.

Just got my SAC 223 conversion today. It’s missing the bolt. SAC ordered bolts from DT in November and they haven’t arrived yet. Yes I know they recently had a bolt recall but nearly five months is a bit slow. Anyone have an SRS A2 30 cal bolt they want to part with. The wait to shoot this is killing me.

This is the start of a project I've been working on. Seems like several guys are interested early in the development phase. I wanted to show off the finished product here and see what everyone thinks and go from there. I am trying to work with a supplier for the part that will give a discount for multiple orders so I'd kinda like to get as big of a group as I can for my initial order.... Not sure if it makes sense to do that here, or use this for discussion only and then if everything seems good to go, create a topic in the group buy area?

I would like to state that I have an A1 that I bought it 2013 and an A2 Covert that I bought earlier this year (2021). This fits BOTH. Oddly enough the OEM Butt Pad assembly of the A1 clicks into the A2 but the A2 will not click into the A1…meaning it doesn’t lock which is odd. The Adapters I designed click into both, which was very satisfying to hear when I trying them.

This is pretty slick. How can I get my hands on an adjustable? Any idea how it can be setup for A2 or make it lock? Great job and innovation.

What's the best way to remove 338 brake from factory barrel?? Was planning on heating with a torch then using crescent wrench. Dont have a barrel vise however.

Thanks

I apologize if it wasn't clear. This LOCKS up on both of mine. I was just sighting an oddity about the OEM butt pads....the one works on the other but not vise-versa....????

I like this in that it does not stick up above the stock which hits my ear pro. I am interested for sure

Not sure if anyone else does this, but I use that little upwards extension to index behind my ear and get a super consistent head position / cheek weld. 🤷‍♂️

Hi Guys,

I am a new DT SRS A2 owner and also new to SH. I’m wondering whether anyone has got any information on a good slide-on pistol rubber grip compatible with the DT? I’ve had a look through the previous threads and seen the links to some of the sites, but options like the Talon grips aren’t great as I understand it because they restriction undoing the chassis.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Get the talon grips and cut along the seam of the chassis. Has worked fine for me under hard use

Got some new glass and a new one piece mount for my A1 this week, a Bushnell XRSii 4.5-30x50 H59 and a Near Mfg Alphamount 1.5” high with 40moa.
my last srs covert I had a Spuhr mount and it was great but this thing is nicer in my opinion. Incredible machining and it looks like a boat anchor but it’s lighter than a Spuhr mount because of Richard Near’s proprietary titanium alloy.
thought I’d share in case anyone is looking for another option.

From what little time I had behind an HTI I gathered these impressions:
1. the factory brake for both .375 & .50 wasn't very effective and was better suited as a suppressor attachment
2. just feels like a big SRS, so good ergonomics, nice trigger, very accurate
3. magazines feel a little less wonky than the SRS mags
