Old 700 BDL help!

I was looking up the barrel code this morning and found the EX means Oct.1973
Im trying to figure out what the 9 and the 46 mean? I couldn't find any information.Could someone please help me with this or point me in the right direction? Thanks for your time and effort.

Remington (and other makers) use various fitter marks as the gun progresses through the mfg process. I'd say that's what those unless someone knows for sure.
