Gunsmithing On converting 338 Norma to 338 Lapua

I'm wanting to Change a rifle from 338 Norma to Lapua. The barrel is on a surgeon XL action with a lot of life left and a ton of length. Just wondering if it's possible to step the tube back and rechamber it to lapua.
I've called GAP, but haven't heard back.

Yes it can be done. Here in my shop the decision is based on the internal condition of the barrel. Many rounds down the barrel= many cracks full of carbon which is not good on reamers.
