After looking at every possible option to suppress my 18 inch SPR build and 12.5 inch Carbine I finally decided that there is no one perfect can that I would be completely satisfied with. So the only solution was to go with two cans.
I decided to get an Ops inc 16th model for my SPR and The Ops M4-M for my carbine. The advantage is that I can swap each can out because they share the same mounting system. The 16th, from what I am told is one of the finest 5.56 suppressors out there, it delivers excellent accuracy and DB reduction. The M4-M will offer the DB reduction I am looking for in a carbine as well as only add four inches to the overall length.
And are you ready for this? both suppressors together with one mount retail for less than one AAC SPR/M4 with a mount which is the other suppressor I was really considering.
...So yes I know, I will have to pay two tax stamps, but in the long run, I will be much happier having the right suppressors for each job.
I stopped by my local SOT dealer, and they are hopefully in the process of transferring both cans out here today.
