I'm curious to hear your thoughts and experiences on customer service/warranty issues among different manufacturers. It doesnt have to be due to a defect. Maybe you wanted a different reticle, turrets, etc.

I recently sent a Kahles 624i in for repair. They took care of the issue which was a grinding feel to the parallax knob. This did take around 2 months to fix and they were upfront about that. Luckily it wasn't my only scope. This experience has got me second guessing purchasing anymore foreign made optics that do not have repair centers in the US. At one point I owned 3 Kahles 624i scopes, if that gives you an idea of how much I like em. But these days we are starting to see more quality US competition.

I also own a Minox , but I dont have any idea how expedient their customer service is either. The deal with Premier shutting down and leaving alot of their old scopes unrepairable, makes me skeptical about any part of the new Tangent/minox ownership

My experience with Leupold has been great. Sent in a VX-6 for a reticle change and turret upgrade. Super quick turnaround and price was really affordable.

Leica. I had a 1600b rangefinder that suddenly quit working. They sent me a new one super fast. Great customer service from those guys as well.

Vortex. We all know Vortex has great customer service and quick

Nightforce. Curious about their customer service since they are a US company. With the new reticles coming out, I think we will see many more people using Nightforce optics this year. I'm sure they will see the growth and make a larger presence in the PRS world.

I bought a used NF ATACR and used t for several months before something went wrong with the windage turret. I called NF, and the customer service rep was very helpful in talking me through the trouble shooting. When we figured out it wasn’t something I could fix, he told me to send it in. They fixed it and sent it back to me within 2 weeks, completely free of charge with no questions asked.

I was very impressed, especially since I didn’t even buy it new. They made a customer for life out of me.

Millhand,
Back when Nightforce came out with the Hi rev turrets, I contacted Nightforce about upgrading mine. Got a RMA number from nightforce, sent the scope in with the order form. 3 week later I get it back. They went through the whole scope, along with changing out the turrets. I would say my experience was a good one.

Bushnell was good, sent in the lrtsi to replace the inverted parallax knob and they were quick and they even tried to upgrade me from a lrtsi to a dmr2 but I opted to stay with the lrtsi.

Not warranty but in dealing with the leupold custom shop for replacement turrets etc was fine.

Havent had issues with anything else.

My Tangent Theta developed an issue with the elevation turret. They fixed the issue very quickly. After receiving the scope back, I received a call from Andy Weber (owner of TT), to make sure I was satisfied with the repair. Excellent CS.

I've used Vortex CS multiple times. They always repair or replace the item without issue.

Had to send a S&B 5-25 in for grease spots on a lens. That repair was super fast as well.

Used Vortex and they were top notch.

Did an upgrade from LRHSi to LRTSi through Bushnell and that was quick and hassle free also. I was provided with shipping labels and tracking emails without asking.

Sent a Zeiss Conquest in and that took 6 months. That was 12 years ago but still not cool.

Bushnell - Sent an XRS1 in for scratches to the objective and ocular lenses from dust at PRS matches and the rubber ring on the ocular coming loose from abuse. From the time it hit the loading dock in KS to the time it left on the way home to me was only 1 working day. They cleaned and polished the objective lens and completely replaced the ocular lens and barrel, cleaned and re-lubed the internals, and re-purged the scope (required once they opened it, obviously). Doing all of that inside one working day and having it back to me less than 2 weeks after I shipped it left me VERY impressed with them.

I also wrecked (by my own fault) a 1980s vintage B&L 1.5-4x optic, and I still had the box and warranty certificate. Despite the age, they agreed to look at it and see if repair was possible. When they couldn't fix it, they sent me a brand new Banner 1.5-4x optic to replace it. All it cost me was the shipping to send in the old optic.

It seems that bushnell, has been very good about upgrading optics for people. I have a friend that had the same higher end bushnell scope fail 2 times, and they upgraded him to the next level up for free. I can recall the model names, but he was ecstatic about it.

I sent in a S&B scope for non warranty repair / refurbishing work. (Basically take a really Really well used scope and make it look brand new).
They had it done pretty quickly & were very easy to talk to and deal with.

Athlons CS was a mirror image of Vortex. Nikon was also pretty user friendly but a little slower then Vortex or Athlon. My NF has been a tank so been fortunate to not need to use them yet

Leupold, Nikon, and Vortex all acted professionally and ethically in my returns for repair. Never had call to send in my NFs or Bushnells scopes. Hope they are just as helpful.

i sent a burris back in. it was an old handgun scope, they looked at it and deemed it unrepairable. so they initially offered me 100 off my next burris purchase. my reply was that 100 off my next purchase seemed a long way off from the forever warrenty. the guy agreed, and six months later, they sent me a new scope that was as close to what i had that they made.

i can’t complain, but i would have been happier if they would have replaced it instead of offering me 100 off my next purchase, and if it wouldnt have taken 6 months. all in all, not the best, but not bad.

I’ve dealt with
Vortex
Athlon
SWFA
Burris
Non of them gave me any hassle. Quick turn around time, and no suspicious questions. They fixed or replaced the scopes, and thanked me for using their company.

Had a Athlon Midas BTR that did not track or return to zero. Sent it in. Got a new one back (different serial #). But...same problem. Sent it back. Got another new one. Same issue. Sent it back and when the 3rd new one came, I didn't even open the box. Sold it. CS was good on a terrible product.

Had one of the 1st run Steiner T5Xi 5-25×56. It went back 3 times. Never was satisfied with it. So I sold it too. CS never fixed it correctly but had good turnaround time on getting it back halfassed.
