options for slinging to fixed buttstock

Re: options for slinging to fixed buttstock

I run the rear point through the D-ring atop my spare mag carrier, and front point through the sight base - works well for me.

VTAC makes an adapter for solid buttstocks that puts a D-ring on top, there has to be a way to work a front point with your rail....

I think boone's got the right idea here.

Of course, I like to be able to remove my sling all together so I don't get tied up in it.

It takes "a lot of sling" to go around a buttstock. V-Tac makes an adapter ( http://www.vikingtactics.com/pop1a.html ) that puts a D-ring on top for sling attachment, but Spec-Ops brand spare mag holders (and maybe others?) also have a D-ring on top ( http://specopsbrand.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductID=7 ).

Or, you could always rig some 550 cord to make a sling loop/attachment.

I've always thought of those plates that go between the stock and lower receiver as a "single-point" sling mount, and never considered using one for 2-point sling, but I guess it would work.
