How many folks on here are using that instacart thing to order groceries from, say, Publix or wherever and what's been your experience so far? I can see how it's useful but I've noticed the Publix website doesn't seem to have the same items on it every day (which is weird) and I really wish I could specify which store I'm having the person go to because I haven't a clue which one they're headed to and for all I know they don't have the right type of beef I need, if they have any beef at all, so that's a couple of changes I'd want to try to implement if it was up to me.

How 'bout y'all?

My neighbor does it and has had good luck.

He advised that if he has ordered a specific thing and it us not in stock they call him and give him options on what else is available

Wife's been doing the Instacart thing for months now, long before Covid-19 was a thing. She works full-time and has a chronic illness that leaves her energy tank pretty empty sometimes, so she's been ordering through them as needed for some time, and it works out fairly well. Sure, once in awhile the produce isn't as quality as it would have been had we done the shopping ourselves, but we've never been given rotten anything and it saves us time and energy.

We have previously used the Shipt service in the past to shop with a regional chain (Meijer), but it's a complete shitshow right now and so we haven't bothered. Amazon continues to deliver some boutique items that we've purchased through it for the past couple of years.

We have had good luck but it's starting to slip lately so I'm going back to shopping in person. They started not completing the order/leaving shit out that we paid for, substituting items we explicitly told them *not* to substitute, cancelling orders at the last minute, delaying orders, etc. It was great a month ago now it just is kinda more trouble than it's worth.

I think it is safer to get my own groceries. Whomever is delivering food/items is in more contact with other possible carriers than I would pass at a safe distance in a store.

I actually just had that happen re: replacing items I explicitly said not to. I get a text saying the shopper replaced an item (didn't even say what it was replaced WITH), and then the rest of my order wasn't available in that store, so I just cancelled it immediately. Guess I'll try again later today, or tomorrow if I must. Most of my order yesterday was just fine; got everything I needed minus the stuff I decided to try again for today. I'd much prefer to go shopping in person again but unfortunately it's just not doable right now. I don't blame Instacart for the stores not having items or whatever, of course. It's not their fault at all. But there needs to be some kinda change to the stores' websites to let you pick a store or have a more accurate inventory list or something to avoid situations like this one.

I’ve done the Kroger “click list” where you order online and pick up at the store. Been reasonably satisfied but lead times have increased to a week.
Lately I’ve been going to the store myself.

I used the Food City "GoCart" inhouse shopping system, as I've a really high risk household. Worked pretty well, would've chosen different produce but most stuff was fine. Having said that, I live in a small town and know the employees shopping for me by name. Is convenient to order and pay online and just have the groceries loaded up. Usually missing a few items but never charged, as they only ring up what was put in the cart. Most people I know who've used third party companies say they suck.

Pretty good, before covid you would reserve a slot for 1 day in advance and they update you if an item runs out. With covid, our nearby walmart wants 3 days in advance reservation but not having to go in saves so much time.

My wife uses food loin. She's been doing it for a while as she has no tolerance for dumb-asses. She orders on line. They let her know if they're out of something and offer an alternative. She can accept or refuse the substitution. She sets up a time, parks in the designated spot and calls or texts to let them know she's on site. They bring out the order and put it in the boot.

I've only used the delivery, not the pickup. So far it's just depended on the person doing it whether they've done the job well or not. Mostly had good experiences with the drivers, it's just the stores and sites that are a bit frustrating.

No, nobody straight won’t go for milfs. Especially in yoga pants, much less be disturbed by them, so flaming it is. Is it hard to hold a rifle with limp wrists?

Just fuckin with you
