I did a search, NADA; don't know if that is bad news.

My ARs are dirty as hell running with a suppressor, am interested in looking at this piston conversion kit, if it doesn't suck.

Anyone running this or have experience with it?

The thought of a cleaner AR is appealing, but not at the expense of reliability or durability.

This is the website, found it surfing on Triad:

It's been out since 2008, they have videos on YouTube (so it must not suck, right?), just want some real-world feedback before I go monkeying with an unknown value.

Are they even selling to civilians now?
I saw it at SHOT 07' or 08', not sure which.
Most interesting design I have seen; no mods required.

I know at first they only sold to LE/Mil and they were pretty expensive. Would like to test one but not ready to buy.

    Yes, available to civilians now.

I too would willingly test, but not sure I want to spend $400 for a gimmick that doesn't work as advertised.

Probably not good news that no one has run one.

The systems work. The weak point with them WAS (note this is past tense) the gas key used with the original version. It replaced the factory key and was prone to breaking off the key screws. The system ran like a clock, but only up to the point that the bolts worked loose and failed. depending on the attention to details during instilation, that time frame varied between users.

BUT FEAR NOT! OSPREY has eliminated this weak link by providing a one piece carrier which includes a integral key. Now there is nothing to break and guns should run like tops for a long time. All of the inventory at Triad Tactical is the upgraded version and will include the upgraded carriers for use with your bolt. If you have one of the original systems, you can contact OSPREY directly for information about the option of upgrading your current kit.

They are for sale to the public in both carbine and rifle lengths.
