Circa 2006 / 2007 SRT Shadow XL - stainless with inconel blast baffle, advertised weight 31 oz (need to weigh it - I am sure it is a couple few ounces heavier now). It has seen use on two .308 bolt guns and one .300 WM. Both .308s wore 22" barrels (although some rounds were subsonic through a 1:8 16"), while the .300Win has a 24" tube. I don't honestly know how many rounds have been through it, but a conservative estimate would be 8k - 9k.

Shift has alway been 0.1 MIL straight down. Very, very accurate. Sound? I have not shot around a lot of other cans but the few that I have (AAC / GemTec) I personally feel the tone was more pleasing. To me .30 cal cans with full power ammo sound about as loud as one another with slight variations in tone more so than how loud they are. That said I have never been down range to hear what the can sounds like.

I remember early on thinking that I must have had the can come loose and I think I rubbed the end cap. It is hard to see here but I think Doug intended for the end cap to be uniform, whereas this one has a slight rub about the 8:00. Also you can definitely see a couple places with copper streaking.

While it is really hard to photo - I think I count a total of 5 baffles. The aperture edges on the inconel blast baffle are just showing some erosion which is uniform, however (again at about the 8:00) stainless steel baffle numbers 2 (esp) and 3 definitely show erosion. The erosion is not uniform (covers about 90 degrees of the circle). I assume this is like heat checking on a barrel - scorch the shit out of it and that area just keeps flaking off at a disproportionate rate once you get it up to temp. That said this thing is a tank, at 8 or 9 grand, this baby has at least 2x? more life in it before a few baffles need to be replaced.

I finally got my stamp for my new one today. I was a tough call between SRT Ti, TBAC, and the THOR Ti. I am sure Frank thinks I pestered the shit out of him via PM (thank you BTW). I don't think you can go wrong with any of them, all are supposed to be superlative. Both the SRT and the TBAC come in at a better price point BTW. The weight difference between these two is something. The first thing I did was screw it on, sling up and take a sight picture standing, then swung on to several POAs - world of difference both in terms of cantilevered weight, and inertia on the swing / speed of swing to full stop, acquire and fire. I am hoping it is as accurate as my SRT. If so I will be a very happy camper. Now I just need to order a can cover.
