I had a friend recomend to me to use a Ozone generator
to get rid of the smoke smell in my garage.Anyone have experience using one of these. The garage is attached to the
house.

Re: OZONE GENERATOR

Had to use one on a cabin once when a client started a fire and forgot to open the flu. He started the fire and then went fishing on his lake and came back about an hour later and the cabin was filled with smoke, he had several game mounts that we were trying to get the smell out of. I ran it about 5 days per the cleaning companies direction and it got rid of about 80% of the smell. They said it could damage rubber like seals on refrigerators, doors, etc if ran too long.

Re: OZONE GENERATOR

Smoke is a solid, not a gas. Ozone electrically charges the particle(s) allowing it to "stick" to the walls, floors etc. If you are smoking in a garage a lot, you may be better served by a high volume fan, pulling the smoke out, before it settles out, then of course, a good cleaning with hot soap and water will actually remove the solids that have settled. If you pull the smoke out, while it is still "smoke", the amount deposited on the walls will be less, hence you'll have less to clean up. Fans cost less, use less energy etc. Ozone machines are really good for people with breathing problems, dust pollen etc.

They work, check out alpine air for a good home unit. I used one to keep the smell of the animals down. As someone else said they charge the air so the particular stick to the wallls, ceiling.

Re: OZONE GENERATOR

I run a "LIving air" ozone generator I got 10 or 15 years ago when they were trying to get people selling them.
I managed to get one free.

But I'd HAPPILY pay the v alue of these things. Keep the house closed up and it keeps the pollen at a minimal.

You have to do careful maintenance to teh grid sheet in it, no soap, just water and toothbrush but otherwise

HELL YEAH GET ONE!!!!

I love mine during pollen season....keeps the house a tad dustier but that's easily fixed....keeps the air clean, VERY CLEAN...

Re: OZONE GENERATOR

Have you guys seen and or tried the ones for hunting in tree stands? Just saw the ad last night and was curious(damned drunken curiosity). I dont hunt from a stand but thought it might be kinda cool to try.
