Hey all. Just wondering how I should go about painting my xlr stock. I bought it used and it's the factory black. I wanna do a digital camo or something. Not sure if I can't paint over it or what to do. Suggestions guys please. Also I have a topic discussing first focal plain in the rifle scope section. Advice there is much appreciated as well!! Thanks all!

Clean with alcohol and put an earplug in the muzzle. tape off scope lenses and dials. Be like MIKE and spray away. When you get tired of the color wipe down with clean rag (dont use alcohol it'll take old paint off and make a mess) and tape up bfore mentioned things, and spray away. It will wear off but know that rifles used in actual combat are painted this way.

I did Duracoat on my XLR and did the natural sponge method to get it broke up.

If you want stencils, look at Bulldog Arms

Just get some krylon and see what works. If you dont like it, you can just put on a new coat. You may want to buy a cheap airsoft rifle though (thats somewhat similar to the gun that you will paint) just for practice and to see which design you like best without putting numerous unnecessary coats of paint on your baby.

I've gotta say, usually I am not a big fan of sponge painting, but you did one heck of a job and that stock looks terrific!

I second that, the look you got going on with that sponge painting. Those stenciling kits are pretty nice too. I may end up doing that. Now i just have to settle with colors.
