I blasted and finished painting with Aluma-Hyde 2. Everything went well but the receiver had some deep rust marks that I hoped would fill with a thick coat- they didn’t and really detract from the paint job. I decided to strip and start again but need some advice as to what “filler” to use before my second shot of Aluma-Hyde. Thanks Steve

JB Weld.
After you completely strip the barrel, mix it up, apply it, let it harden and cure, sand it, prime it, paint it. Done

Duracoat also makes a product called durafill. It is similar to filling primer for cars. I have used it to fill factory stampings.

DuraFil will do the trick... As far as using beads for blasting,120 Alu. oxide is best to prep for the Durafil... Glass kinda' polishes the steel...
